A BLACKBOX IS A BOX …

… what goes in comes out quite changed. Whatever happens in the Blackbox remains open to speculation. The SWW-Blackbox also makes you come out differently from how you went in. Visitors experience their senses in a very special way.

Suddenly we only see one part of the whole thing, but this one we see surprisingly detailed. An actually insignificant string we suddenly perceive completely different. Without thinking, we act strangely: maybe, we jump or swirl neon-colored ribbons around. We see white hands talking to us get a fright because of our own bright socks.

THE SECRET OF THE SWW-BLACKBOX

In complete darkness with black light as the only source of light we can only see what is white or neon-colored. Hands in white gloves seem to be moving through the room without a body since the rest is hardly visible.

Neon-colored objects produce fascinating light-effects when they are rolled or hurled through the air. But at the same time the black light-effect also invites you to slow movements. We communicate with careful gestures and try out new body movements almost unconsciously.

THE PRINCIPLE OF THE SWW-BLACKBOX

The things that surprise sighted people in the Blackbox and are fun for them hold an additional atraction for partially sighted people. They perceive things which normally remain hidden for them. What sighted people usually see from a long distance remains concealed for the visually impaired for instance up to a distance of one meter. Even then, it still appears blurred or merely in rough outlines.

Therefore, clear contrasts in the near environment are always helpful. White surfaces on a black background are perceived signifficantly more clearly than blue with a green background. This is exactly the principle of the Blackbox with its loud neon-colours and the glistening white in the darkness.

MORE THAN A PLEASURE …

The SWW-Blackbox is much more than a special attrraction on a funfair. It invites sighted and visually impaired people to become active and to simply experiment. For some physically and mentally disabled visually impaired people, a neon tennis-ball has the irresistable appeal toseize it. Even legally blind persons move this little, now brightly shining ball devotedly in front of their eyes again and again.
It's amazing also for the sighted. Just try it!
